CRANIOSACRAL SYSTEM DISSECTION DAY
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE CS Dissection Day?
The best way to learn about what you are effecting with your therapy is to put your hands on it - not just the outside of the body but also the inside.
We have an unprecedented opportunity to study the body with a neurosurgeon. We will spend the day doing dissection on fresh-frozen specimens examining the body from a CranioSacral perspective.
WHO CAN ATTEND CS Dissection Day?
Anyone with CST experience or interest in the craniosacral system. No previous dissection experience is necessary.
WHAT HAPPENS AT CS Dissection Day?
This is a hands-on experience and you will have a scalpel at your disposal. We will begin the morning suiting up and talking with the neurosurgeon about what we are going to view. The morning will be spent dissecting examining specimens to learn more about how the body fits and connects together.
We'll then take a lunch and go back to the table continuing our explorations.
Questions are encouraged, so start making a list of what you would like to see and learn more about!
ARE THESE EMBALMED CADAVERS?
The specimens we will be working with are considered fresh-frozen. This means that they have not been embalmed and are do not contain formaldehyde.
CAN I TAKE PICTURES?
Yes, absolutely! Please bring your camera. You can see pictures from August or October on Facebook.
WHY DOES IT COST SO MUCH?
It may seem like $400 - $500 is a high price to pay for one day's worth of learning, this is a day that will be with you for a long time. People from the August and October classes are still remarking about how helpful it was. The cost is set to cover the lab fees of setting up the table ($1600), gowns, glasses, gloves, etc. and to help cover the cost of the specimen used ($1200 - 2500) and a nominal stipend for the resident doctor assisting us.

Depending upon interest, yes we will hold another dissection day.
